Tua Tagovailoa reaction: NFL faces major backlash from fans, media and medical community
Tua Tagovailoa and his injury concern is a topic that’s being widely discussed around the NFL, and in the sports world in general.
The Miami Dolphins quarterback, and former Alabama star, suffered a concussion in the Thursday night loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, and was later transported to a local hospital after he was taken off the field on a stretcher. It was reported late in the game that he was expected to be released and fly home with the team. This injury came after another injury Tagovailoa suffered on Sunday, which appeared to be a head injury, but was described as a back injury.
On Friday morning, Tagovailoa’s trainer, Nick Hicks, shared, “He is doing well. Negative X Rays. No internal bleeding. Will get MRI and second opinion but all things look good at the moment.”
Plenty of fans and media, and the medical community reacted to the events Thursday night and Friday morning:
What the Dolphins did to Tua last night reminds me of how they mishandled QB Matt Moore in the 2017 Playoffs.
He was hit in the head, couldn’t stand up for 2 minutes, and missed one play.

I think treating your players like ground beef is classless https://t.co/GNkIpxEZkg

THE FUCK IT IS!! Stop pushing out your and the NFL’s propaganda. You are just as complicit in what happened. How do you look at yourselves in the mirror. https://t.co/azolNnyl2n

The only thing I wish NFL teams coaches etc would do is help protect a player from himself. Saying hey Tua I know you want to play but it’s best you sit this 1 out/take time to heal and get better. That’s where I put “blame” on DOLPHINS. All the other noise is Ray cray https://t.co/Eod29HkVpa

I am a huge football fan, but last night the NFL really failed Tua.

The #MiamiDolphins Organization and the #NFL all need they ass kick for not protecting #Tua last night. Knowing damn well he was not ready to play in last night game. I really hope and pray that this doesn’t in his career.

NO WAY #Tua should have been allowed back in the game last week. Even if it was a back injury. There are many different types of #concussion head/brain, spinal, and body/Organ. But the most important thing is “YOUR EYES DON’T LIE” but someone IS maybe even the victim. #NFL #ESPN

I’m sick to my stomach over the Tua situation. I hope the Dolphins and the NFL face serious repercussions
