Lane Kiffin once again takes shot at journalist after follow-up report about Auburn job
Lane Kiffin has WCBINEWS Sports Director Jon Sokoloff in his cross hairs.
Earlier this week, Sokoloff reported that Kiffin would leave Ole Miss for Auburn, and that it would happen on Friday.
BREAKING: #OleMiss HC Lane Kiffin plans to step down as the Rebels coach Friday and head to Auburn to become the Tigers next head coach, according to sources
Sources say the Tigers haven’t officially offered the job to anyone yet.
So Lane to Auburn is happening. Story soon.

Kiffin, however, took the first shot at Sokoloff on social media after the report.

Kiffin didn’t stop there either. After the Egg Bowl loss to Mississippi State, Kiffin called out Sokoloff, who was in the room, during his post game press conference.
“I think when this was falsely reported by Jon, who’s now famous, congratulations,” Kiffin said, “that you can write whatever you want. And I would do it too, I think, because you’re never held accountable and you get to become famous and maybe he’ll be right. Jon did it, so I had to have a team meeting to say his article was wrong, which you love these unnamed sources. But yes, I had to deal, had to have a team meeting because of that. When there’s other stuff and chat rooms and all that stuff, but when a reporter writes it, it changes the game on that.”
On Friday night, Sokoloff revised his report about Kiffin and Auburn. He added that Hugh Freeze was also in the mix now and that Auburn would make a decision after the Iron Bowl out of respect for Cadillac Williams. Kiffin, however, took another shot at Sokoloff in a now-deleted tweet.

The Lane Kiffin-Auburn saga will be over soon when the Tigers name a new head coach.
