Brian Kelly made sure to take a bit of a shot at Alabama football on Tuesday at the Houston TD Club Luncheon.

Kelly, who is entering his 2nd season as head coach of the Tigers, made his intentions in the SEC clear during Year 1. His LSU squad started off a little slow, dropping a game to Florida State and getting thumped by Tennessee in Baton Rouge.

But LSU responded well, downing Alabama and Ole Miss to win the SEC West and advance to the SEC championship game against Georgia, even despite a loss to Texas A&M on Nov. 26. They put up a good fight against the Georgia juggernaut, but still fell 50-30.

The finish is enough to have most LSU fans excited about 2023. On Tuesday, Kelly reportedly had the following to say to the LSU fans in attendance:

“I love the environment of a college stadium, I love coming out on that field,” Kelly said. “I love beatin’ Alabama.”
