Alabama has officially announced Nick Sheridan and Jamarcus Shephard as the program’s offensive coordinators for the 2024 season.

Sheridan and Shepard both previously worked for head coach Kalen DeBoer at Washington. They were name co-offensive coordinators on Tuesday to replace Ryan Grubb, who left for that same role with the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month.

Sheridan will have the title of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Shepard is the co-offensive coordinator, assistant head coach and wide receivers coach.

“Nick and JaMarcus are both fantastic coaches, and we are excited to have them join us at Alabama,” DeBoer said in a statement. “They have experience in our offense, and they know what we are trying to accomplish on that side of the football. They both bring passion and enthusiasm to their work and have proven to be excellent teachers and recruiters at every stop of their careers.”

Sheridan previously was the tight ends coach at Washington for 2 seasons under DeBoer. He last severed in an offensive coordinator role at Indiana in 2020-21 while Michael Penix Jr. was with the Hoosiers. In 2020, Indiana went 6-2 overall in an abbreviated campaign due to COVID-19.

“It is a tremendous opportunity to join Coach DeBoer at Alabama,” Sheridan said in a statement. “I look forward to working with this offensive staff to develop a plan each week to put our team in a position to be successful. There is an unmatched legacy at Alabama, and I understand the importance of upholding that standard while developing our players.”

Shephard was the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach under DeBoer at Washington from 2022-23. The Huskies had one of the top wide receiver rooms in the country last season, boasting stars such as Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan.

“I have a passion for coaching and developing our football players both on and off the field,” Shephard said in the release. “The chance to help Coach DeBoer continue the standard at Alabama is something I take a lot of pride in working to accomplish. This is a special place, and I am excited about the opportunities that are in front of us.”

Alabama will hold its spring game on April 13.
