It wasn’t broadcast across the country like the initial postgame interview, but it appears Alabama head coach Nick Saban has already tried to make peace with ESPN reporter Maria Taylor.

James Miller, noted author of a book about the origins of ESPN and another on the Creative Artists Agency, reported Sunday afternoon that Saban had called Taylor and apologized Saturday night.

Taylor responded to the situation early Sunday morning saying she was just doing her job.

Media including Paul Finebaum also weighed in on the situation as did former Alabama coach Lane Kiffin. It remains to be seen if an apology report will officially put the situation to bed.

Saban himself is the last person involved who hasn’t stated anything publically, but he’ll likely be asked about it this upcoming week.
