Sam Pittman and Arkansas are spiraling quickly, and the head coach of the Razorbacks might be in trouble.

With the loss to Mississippi State on Saturday, the Razorbacks are now 2-6 and have lost 6-straight games. It’s getting very realistic that Arkansas could go without an SEC win.

Paul Finebaum weighed in on Pittman’s future with the Razorbacks on the Matt Barrie Show on Sunday.

“He has to be in a lot of trouble,” Finebaum said. “I say that reluctantly. If you know Sam Pittman, you genuinely love this guy. Some coaches you like or respect. He’s the guy you want next door, he would do anything for you. But this is his fourth season, he had the transition year, he had the really good year, last year was a mess, this year’s a disaster.”

The loss to Mississippi State is inexcusable. The Bulldogs have been lackluster all season, and on Saturday they were without their starting quarterback. Despite that, Arkansas still found a way to lose.

“You have to start blaming that on coaching…” Finebaum said. “It’s hard to imagine what Sam Pittman has left to argue in relation to his future.”
