Sam Pittman said he saw a different Arkansas team this week, despite the loss to LSU, from the more disappointing loss to Liberty last week.

“It came down to pride and it came down to passion for the game,” Pittman said. “I think you saw a passionate football team today. We lost. I think we saw a non-passionate football team last week.”

Pittman revealed that he knew KJ Jefferson wasn’t going to play against LSU on Thursday afternoon, and that the coaching staff decided that the best thing for him would be to rest, and he hopes Jefferson is rested for Ole Miss.

About Malik Hornsby’s performance, Pittman said, “I feel bad for him because he didn’t have the success I thought he would or anybody in the locker room thought he would.”

About the change in quarterback, Pittman explained that he didn’t think about making the change to Cade Fortin until he did.
