The first Sonny D dinger of his pro career came in Friday’s Rocket City Trash Pandas game. The Los Angeles Angels affiliate is based in Madison, Alabama, giving many Auburn fans a chance to watch the 2022 SEC Player of the Year.
The fans in Madison should enjoy DiChiara while they have him. The fifth-round MLB Draft pick is off to an impressive start in Double-A. If he keeps swinging a hot bat, it won’t be long until he moves up.
As a senior, DiChiara posted a 383/.549/.777 slash line in 61 games started, with 22 homers.
