Marcus Jones, fresh off being named this year’s winner of the Paul Hornung Award winner as college football’s most versatile player, has announced his plans for the Birmingham Bowl as the star Houston cornerback wrote on social media.

Jones was a cornerback and return specialist for the Cougars, but will miss the bowl game as he prepares for the 2022 NFL Draft.

“God has blessed me with an incredible opportunity to play the sport I love at the highest level,” Jones said.

Jones was the only player in the country this year with multiple punt return touchdowns and multiple kick return touchdowns. He had 2 of each. He averaged 34 yards per kickoff return and is fourth in the nation with a 14.4 yard average per punt return.
