Dabo Swinney probably regrets making these comments right about now.

Unless, of course, he’s prepared to walk away from college football and pursue another career as he suggested he would once college athletes could be compensated for playing.

The Clemson coach offered up his comments back in 2015, and with name, image and likeness now a reality in all of college athletics, many have begun questioning if Swinney plans to follow through with his comment.

“They may want to professionalize college athletics. Well, then, maybe I’ll go to the pros. If I’m going to coach pro football, I might as well do that,” Swinney said.

He wasn’t done yet, the Clemson coach also offered up these comments.

“As far as paying players, professionalizing college athletics, that’s where you lose me,” Swinney added. “I’ll go do something else because there’s enough entitlement in this world as there is.”
