Original story:

Alabama and Texas A&M won’t get to decide their regular-season series. The rubber game scheduled for Sunday has been canceled due to weather.

A release from Texas A&M said the cancelation is due to current inclement weather in Bryan-College Station, with more in the forecast. First pitch at Olsen Field had been scheduled for noon CT.

With the 2023 college baseball regular season winding down, the game will not be rescheduled. Sunday’s game was not of significance for the upcoming SEC Tournament.

Both teams are 12-14 in conference play and guaranteed a spot in Hoover with a top-12 finish in the conference standings. With just 1 more SEC series remaining, the teams are not in the hunt to finish on top in the SEC West or secure the regular-season conference title.

Game 1 of the series went to Texas A&M. The Aggies hit 6 homers in an 11-5 home victory in the opener.

Alabama needed just 7 innings to even the series on Saturday. The Crimson Tide claimed Game 2 via run rule with a score of 12-1. UA scored 3 in the 1st inning, 1 in the 3rd and 8 in the 5th to go up 12-0. The Aggies managed just 1 run in the 6th, unable to cut it to single digits to keep playing after the 7th.

Alabama (34-17, 12-14 SEC) ends the regular season at home against Ole Miss. The Rebels, college baseball’s defending national champions, are currently in last place in the SEC with a conference record of 6-21.

Texas A&M (30-21, 12-14 SEC) travels to Mississippi State for the final series of the season. MSU is 7-19 against conference teams, 2 games behind Mizzou (9-17) for the 12th and final spot in Hoover.
