Urban Meyer has heard all the chatter surrounding Jim Harbaugh and Michigan as a result of the sign-stealing investigation into the program at Ann Arbor. While the Big Ten’s investigation concluded with Harbaugh accepting a 3-game suspension, potential punishment from the NCAA investigation remains to be seen.

Meyer was recently asked about the idea of a “reasonable” punishment for the Wolverines in an interview with Colin Cowherd. He admitted the idea of vacating wins or a national title if Michigan runs the table this year is “silly,” and Meyer refrained from giving his full thoughts until he sees how “deep” the scandal goes.

However, Meyer did say he has heard it’s possible Harbaugh won’t coach next season if things are as deep as he’s heard.

“I think the vacate stuff is silly. I talked to Matt Leinart about that, I think (USC) had some stuff vacated. I know they don’t view it as vacated. They don’t care, the players did it,” said Meyer. “And also, Colin, I’m just skeptical about making a comment because how deep does this really go? I’ve heard it’s deep deep and I’ve heard that it’s not that deep where it’s just a rogue guy doing it which is hard to believe…

“I want to remain to be seen what the depth is. If it’s as deep as I’m hearing, I’ve heard as well there’s a chance he won’t coach there next year for the season.”
