It was the obvious bias in the old system of selecting a National Champion without having competed with teams that had legitimate claims for the title that lead to the playoffs. It's the same problem for many these days concerning the rankings at the beginning of the season, the perception of bias, or actual bias will always be there until the system is changed. As for how to change the early rankings to be fair, I think that ought to be left up to the head coaches to decide, not anyone else. Obviously coaches are going to be biased towards their team, but with the exception of a few, I think most would be very fair towards making that decision. I certainly don't know if that will ever happen, but if it rankings were based only on the Coaches Poll, I think it would be fairly difficult to make the bias argument, the other polls just have too much opportunity for bias.

Anything is possible, but then there's reality, and that scenario is highly unlikely. In fact, I'm absolutely positive the Dawgs will be playing for their 3rd National Championship in a row. Whether they succeed or not is the only question, obviously I'm hoping they do, but you'd be foolish to bet they won't make it to the playoffs.

Frankly, as an UGA alumni, I don't care one iota if someone doesn't respect my Dawgs, most especially any team they play, they'll do so at their own risk. Georgia is an excellent public university and without a doubt, certainly has an elite football team, they've more the proven this fact. Obviously I'm hoping my Dawgs accomplishes a threepeat, and if they do, they'll be the inly team to have accomplished it, the ONLY one! Trying to compare achieving a threepeat to any team in the history of college football is ludicrous, especially not having to compete in any playoff games. To do so in my opinion certainly would be disrespectful not only to the team if they did threepeat, but also to what would definitely be a historic accomplishment. Otherwise, why have the playoffs games to begin with, just go back to the old system of letting National Championships be decided by people who aren't playing the game, I'm absolutely positive people will disrespect that a lot more than my Dawgs!

For someone not wanting to get up on a soapbox, Matt not only did so, he stacked-up enough to reach the same level of abject stupidity like the rectal jesters at Atlanta Journal of Constipation! To begin with, anyone who doesn't think law enforcement in the land of inbred pachyderms doesn't do whatever they can to hide or cover-up every single behavioral "issue" is an absolute imbecile, especially in Tuscaloosa, period, full stop! So to claim the gumps' savior little Nicky has done a stellar job by being above the fray is not only patently false, it's ludicrous, or did the recent arrest of one of the gumps for possession and distribution of a controlled substance escape someone's "unbiased" soapbox focus? I could go on a list others little Nicky and company weren't able to slip under the rug, but 1 is more than sufficient enough to tarnish little Nicky's halo! The reality is, no college football program is without behavioral issues amongst its players, nor is ANY head coach, staff, and even the school's administration not actively involved in mitigating those issues. It's not only part of their friggin jobs, it's also in the best interests of the school, its alumni, fans, but most especially the other players who aren't involved, not to mention collegiate football as a whole! Unfortunately, just like too many people are subject to do, a few like the rectal jesters at AJC are quick to label an entire team and/or school because of the actions of a few, and in doing so, are certainly not above "conjecturing" or just making sh!t up to sell their rag! So my advice to other so-called journalists, if the best you can do is to coattail off of what is nothing more than a smear-job by a few rectal jesters who simply can't stand Georgia's success while Atlanta's gnats slip further into irrelevance, then your true "journalistic" calling belongs in the supermarket tabloids. You'll find them right next to another waste of cellulose resources, the Atlanta Journal of Constipation! By the way, I'd bet my retired pay some of the rectal jesters at AJC have engaged in criminal behavior, and are probably still doing so. As such, by the same BS "logic" they and other rectal jesters use, AJC obviously has a criminal behavior problem. So until said criminal behavior has been thoroughly investigated, and serious efforts made to rid itself of their criminals, AJC is the last group of rectal jesters to be pointing fingers! See Matt, it works both ways, be better than AJC!

Fantastic smack-talk from Irish Spring, as a Georgia alumnus, it's great to see a company with a sense of humor, especially with all the social justice princesses like Nike out there. Just the same, after my Dawgs destroy Notre Dame and Uga eats their leprechaun, it won't be a bar of Irish Spring he leaves in their locker room! But since we're such gracious Southern hosts, we'll gladly return the boxes from Irish Spring to cover the smell, along with cases of soothing ointment Notre Dame players can rub on whichever hole hurts the worst. GO DAWGS!!!
