Like mentioned before...probably a Daville fan acting like he's a Bama fan....he just threw out hating Daville to throw us off...using Joe Burrow playing close is a reason to hate both??...is a reach...and an ignorant one too...his name is probably irrepressible...he just can't spell it....
A&M definitely has the money to entice Stoops...but Stoops really doesn't like A&M and has made some negative remarks about them, because of their rumored recruiting using NIL deals more than the traditional idea of school, coaching staff, and team itself as a reason to come to A&M...they have the highest paid NIL deals in football yet lost to Appalachian State, which goes to show...players will play with their heart better than their pocket-books...and Stoops knows that....
I dunno....Notre Dame isn't even in the top 25 salaries...Stoops is 15th and will make more next year...you think Notre Dame will give him time like UK did??....
Well, we're mature enough to know that Alabama fans aren't quite the a-holes that you seem to be an expert at...I know a lot of UK fans who have pulled for Bama because they're SEC...don't know where your hate comes from...but everyone can see for themselves it's immature, asinine, and completely without class.......
No way...Nebraska doesn't pay enough...Stoops pay is 15th nationally...and will go up again next year...only Big 10 team he'd even consider would probably be either his alma mater at Iowa...or his home state...which would be Ohio State...and that isn't going to happen either...he's put too much time into building a football program at UK...rumor has it he was quietly offered more from Florida and Auburn but turned it down....
First thing I thought when I read the article. I'd keep what's ranked, but add Ole Miss at #10. Only thing I can think of, other than they hate to add too many teams from the SEC, is the recruiting ranking, UT#12...UK#14...UA#25...while Ole Miss is #26....Don't think your roster is that much better...once you get past Alabama, Tx.A&M and Georgia...the talent starts to get more even...Kentucky has their QB, both running backs, core of the LB squad, and transfers from Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Iowa, with experience to help with the spots where starters are leaving...I understand your frustration...but if you haven't noticed, UK has something going on these days...and you can never keep Tenn. and Arkansas, traditional football schools down long either...
I think they've been embarrassed enough...Probably come out pretty fired up for Tennessee...UK does this with every promising season...Start great out of the gate...choke mid-season...losing to some team they shouldn't...They get full of themselves with all the SEC/ESPN interviews, BBN hype, and national coverage. They do not know how to handle prosperity. Definitely ain't used to it...and it's not just the players,it's the coaches too. No excuse for having 2 weeks to prepare, and have the other team's head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator make your coaches look like "Pop Warner" level coaches...I felt sorry for UK's players because after a while you could see them looking at the sideline for help...hopefully some different defensive calls and Stoops/Coen had no answer for their stunts, blitz packages, while White stubborn to stick with a 3 man front, that weakened their run defense, also gave the State QB all the time in the world while the defensive backs, sometime 3 and 4 defenders around the receiver...stayed soft and watched, then reacted by missing tackles, instead of being aggressive and taking cuts on the ball for an interception...there were plenty of opportunities for interceptions in that game if the defensive backs would just react instead of standing there watching the receiver catch the ball like a deer caught in the headlights...I felt the linebackers were lost...Miss. State's line was taking advantage of them being so far off the line which gave way to their surprisingly good run game, and Stoops,White, and Coen not only was getting out-coached by another team that had half the time to prepare...but couldn't even make a decent adjustment at halftime...if they lose to Tennessee...I'd be VERY surprised...something has gone wrong with the whole team if they lose this Saturday...
He's shown flashes that he can...he's a big QB and has taken to linebackers and defensive backs at the end of his run instead of sliding, (which the UK coaches have gotten on him and he doesn't do it as much)...he's been improving...his reads are improving with such a option oriented offense that Coen has come to UK with from the Rams...and it's the first year with it...but yeah...he can run... UKs offensive strength is more smash mouth Rodriguez football up the middle and not really involving the QB...when you fill the box and try to stop it...they play action pass...or play action pass QB draw...It's a hard offense to master, taken in mil-second reads of passing lanes, giving the ball to the running back...or pulling and running...pulling and passing... but they definitely are getting better. Last UK's game was a wake-up call for better push up front and defensive back tackling and coverage ...Georgia's defense is just not a good measuring stick for your offense...even though UK scored more on Georgia than anyone else has...but the upcoming Miss. St. game and the Tenn. game are the humps UK has to get over to have a historic season.....
They have to be really fired up these next 2 games to get over the "hump" of what's left of the season and finishing 11-1. Miss. St. is going to take full advantage of UK's most weak area on defense, the defensive backs with his air raid attack...If we don't get to the QB...if blitz packages aren't working...we'll be in trouble...We will score on them...but with that pass happy attack and our defensive backs that are prone to get beat...it might be who can outscore who...
Definitely...if UK isn't prepared and up for a hard fight that Saturday night UK might be in trouble. UT's run game is surprisingly strong right now, and only going to improve...if UK's front and linebackers aren't ready they may be in for a long day...these next 2 games are the defining moment of an 11-1 season and a New Years Bowl game...and it was Ole Miss. that came into Kroger field and beat a UK team that was better than them last year so nothing is wrong with losing to that team at home...I don't like Kiffin...but you can't take away he's an offensive genius and he out coached Stoops and Gran in last years game.........
Best Defense I've seen in years...their front 4 is the strongest in the country...their linebackers are the fastest...and they just have the BEST defensive backs I've seen in years...hardly EVER gets beat...and the best run support ...fast reacting, hard tackling, killer instincts...I keep saying...only team that can beat Georgia....is Georgia...
Definitely the toughest test for the defensive backs, they were poor against Georgia...and if the UK defense has any weakness you can start there. Georgia really showed it...and UK would have had more shutouts if it wasn't for the defensive backs getting beat and on a lot of long runs against UK's defense can be attributed to poor tackling by the defensive backs...Miss St. will take full advantage of that this weekend...Leach kills me with his interview persona...like he's just smoked 3 bong hits before he comes to the mike...and all the time, while you wonder if he knows what planet he's on at the moment...he's an offensive (especially in the pass game), genius....
1977 is the only season in my lifetime....their only loss that season was at Baylor...the temperature was 102 that day...I talked to Derrick Ramsey once about that game...He said the heat and humidity was suffocating...Baylor had been practicing in it...and UK was not prepared to play in such heat...But was arguably the best team UK ever put on the field....
Mississippi St. under Leach and his Air raid will test our defensive backs, which Georgia made fools of...UK needs a better push up front from the line and some different blitz packages to counter all the passing...I fear that and Tenn. coming to UK with one of the best run games now in the SEC....Daville...even at Louisville...hasn't been able to recruit and develop as fast with Satterfield as they expected...I feel UK is just too superior talent wise for Louisville these days...as with a lot of ACC, Big 10, and Big 12 teams that their top tier teams get beat every year by mid-tier SEC teams in bowl games...funny how the NCAA and bowl coordinators always match up second place and third place ACC and Big 10 teams with 6th and 7th place SEC teams with the SEC teams usually winning the most bowls...it's the next 2 games that I worry the most....Vandy, New Mexico St., and Louisville should be games where our second stringers and backups for resting starters can get more game time development and experience for post season bowls and next year.....
Georgia will run through Florida and Tennessee like sh*t through a goose...I have no doubt this is the "Dogs" year.No one is going to mess with that defense... The front 4 are a terror...the linebackers are faster than most div. 1 running backs...the defensive backs don't only stay on the receivers like glue...but are the fastest reacting defensive backs to the run I've ever seen. The way they come up in their run defense support is amazing to say the least...After UK in college football I'm ALL SEC...I've been a Bama fan for their continued success leading the SEC to National Championships or at least in the hunt year after year. But this year I'm pulling for Georgia. The way their offense identified the UK defensive back weakness, that I'm surprised other teams haven't taken advantage of, was proof of their offensive coordinators prowess and game situation chess match superiority...I hated playing the Dogs on the 7th game in a row. I know we had a lot players out and banged up that we couldn't replace with the same skill set, where Georgia's recruiting allows them to...I'm glad we have 2 weeks now to heal and catch our breath...but Georgia is carrying the SEC torch to a national championship this year...and they deserve it...I'll be pulling for them whoever they beat down to win it that day...Only team that can beat Georgia...is Georgia...
Well, the Stoops announced their divorce around the beginning of the year...it was low key...they asked for privacy...I think it's an agreement between both with no animosity...but a lot of personal decisions will go in to it. I know they'll pay him more...the whole staff...but will UK build his indoor practice facility and keep upgrades going that competes with the SEC elite. More likely, his wife will get possession of the boys. Is she moving far away?..going to stay close??...I'm thinking she's from Ohio like him, so maybe the fact that the boys will be just up I-75 from Lexington a few hours will keep him here...but this is an emotional time for him...you just don't know what he's thinking other than this football season...but the end of the season with new job offers and finding out where his boys will be...I think his loyalties lie in Kentucky. The first school that had enough faith to hire him....and give him time to develop a program....how many teams out there like Florida State and these football elites would give him to get their schools back in national prominence...UK has been VERY patient with Stoops...more than 99% of other schools.....
As a UK football fan since the early 70s I've just seen to many letdowns to be so bold and look at nothing more than the next game. LSU is dangerous...Coach "O"s on the hot-seat, his players probably feel responsible and they will be hungry for a win at a ranked UK for the sake of their coach...I know our defensive front will be up to the task...I just hope our defensive backs are up to the task...So I don't even think about a record until we get past LSU...UK at Georgia is...well...measurable at best...Miss.St. just beat Texas AM at Kyle Filed and the 12th man...that game isn't going to be easy away...Tennessee sliced and diced the Mizzou front a hell of a lot more than we did...I worry how much they're improving...so this Cat fan ...who's seen so much blow up on a football team through the years only to run over a nail and get a flat...one game at a time ya'll...and Bama and Georgia...are on another level...the national championship should just be the SEC championship this year between the Tide and the Dawgs......Go "SEC"!!!!!!!!!
Man...all you do on here is troll the UK comments...I think you got a lil sugar crush on them don't ya Tinkerbell!!!
They did when their player speared Boom Williams and put him out of the game...
Hold on here...this if football...not soccer or tiddlywinks...now...an LSU player speared Boom Williams on a punt return and put him out of the game...I'm talking a lower the head into the helmet type hit...this is a shoulder first contact then the helmet made contact which as long as the shoulder hits first is legal..Football is all about possible career ending injuries...very...very....VERY rarely death...but that's what separates the men from the boys and American football....the way it's goin...everyone will be wearing belts with flags and we can jus change it to powder-puff flag football....
I personally don't like 4 in the playoffs...it's still leaving to much to argue and 2nd guess...and Elite 8 playoff would be much better...start with 8 right after the last game of the year...to 4 the next week...a championship two weeks after that...
