Bryan Harsin is nominating Kirby Smart for Finebaum of the year?
I think it's premature to say Nix is surging. He made some great clutch plays against LSU, and probably played his best game ever against Arkansas...I want to see a few more games with pass completion percentages of 65% (or better) before my optimism gets better than cautious. I don't doubt his talent, just the consistency. He doesn't need to beat Ole Miss. He needs to play well enough to keep defenses honest so the rest of the team can do their part.
"Ole Miss took care of business, and could very well go 11-1. Next week’s trip to Auburn... Win there, and State is a solid favorite..." Which Mississippi school are you writing about? The quality has really dropped on this site.
Wasn't Franklin the guy who brought us that dreadful meerkat pre-snap look on offense? This article isn't journalism, it's repackaged trolling.
Does Malzahn have a winning record? Sure. But the record simply doesn't look that good against the better competition. Let's look at the body of work: Since taking over as head coach, Malzahn is 2-5 vs. LSU, 2-5 in regular seasons vs. UGA, 2-4 vs. Alabama, 2-4 in bowl games (3-5 in postseason play counting 2 SEC Championship games.) This year's victory over MSU got Malzahn over .500 v. State, but the Florida loss took him to 3-4 v. Dan Mullen. Trail mix has two ingredients: M&Ms and disappointment. While it's true Gus Malzahn has led Auburn to some sweet victories, there are simply a greater number of games that have made the fans nuts.
