Originally from Green Bay. I'm a Packers FANATIC. I've lived in TN most of my life, however, so I'm also a VFL. Go Big Orange!

Kentucky missed the PAT after their second touchdown I believe (I think it was blocked/tipped at the LOS by Middleton), which forced them into having to go for the touchdown in the final minutes as opposed to a game tying FG.
Awesome comeback! A few friends of mine drove down for the game, then left after the pick-6. They're regretting that move! I'm glad we could add a W to the SEC win column. Side note - I haven't seen or heard anything on this yet, but it makes me cringe just a little watching the exchange from QB to Crouch. He's obviously only in on short yardage, smash mouth plays. One would think they'd clean up his fundamentals a bit, especially with early contact being a near certainty. Oh well, all's well that ends well for now!
Stategrad Hit the NAIL ON THE HEAD!!! My experience ended in a fight. We were leaving the game and 3 male LSU students were harassing a UT couple (probably in their late 70s maybe 80's). The husband told them to "buzz off," and they responded by spitting on them. Other LSU fans nearby laughed. I will never return to that stadium... Too many degenerates for my taste.. The saddest part .... LSU beat us..
Ummm WOW!! I hadn't seen him play until just now. This kid's ranking is going to rise... Those db's are going to have to rethink their pursuit angles this year lol... Awesome get for Gillespie!
"The Hit" would have been much better had he not acted like a punk immediately after making the tackle. Hopefully the culture being put in place with Butch will have him taunting and looking down at his books... And playing with some degree of CLASS when and if he sees the playing field...
It's crazy that a Bama fan can call us out for being proud of ancient history, and speak to it as irrelevant, and yet something tells me that same Bama fan is damn proud of ALA's "ancient history." The greats of our game were, above all, leaders of men. A unique trait that few possess...a trait that transcends time. The Bear and The General were great then, and they'd be great now. The years next to their names mean only that we can no longer witness that greatness first hand. On a lighter note....I was recently reading an article on Vince Lombardi, and under the article was a link to a story on The Bear. It was an investigative article on the relationship between The Bear and Adolph Rupp. It basically said that had it not been for Rupp's stranglehold on the UK Athletic Dept (finances, overall resources), The Bear, and especially his wife, would've been completely happy staying in Lexington. I can't even imagine what UK football would be like today had he stayed.... puts a knot in my stomach lol.
Like VFL16, I'm a Vols fan, but that doesn't change the fact that this article was extremely refreshing to read. Not only do you state your point of view, but you provide facts then film to illustrate it. And most importantly, IMO, you write as though you're presenting to an audience of either coaches, or fans that know the game. One of my peeves with many sports writers is how they assume that most of their readers won't know what "personnel packages" or a "3 technique" are. I understand that writers want their articles to be for "every fan," but I still think they do readers a disservice. Either the reader knows the language, or they'll ask or look up what they didn't know. Either way... it's a win/win. Keep 'em comin Murph...much respect, and Go Vols.
Zoucat, I'll give you somewhat of a pass (as I have all Mizz fans this year) for the fact that you're naive to the rigors of playing SEC football year after year. The most intriguing thing is that you act like you trounced us this year. You beat us by 8. Say all you want about Mizzou's "player development" magic, if you can't start recruiting better talent, your fan base will be reduced to looking forward to homecoming every year, not Atlanta.
The fact of the matter is...This is the SEC. I could pick out strong position groups that were left out for just about every team. Before I opened this story, the first groups that came to mind were UGA RBs and UT WRs. But I'm a biased Vols fan, as is just about everyone on here. USC has awesome talent at LB, but their Defense overall stunk. The same could be said for UT WRs. No protection = low WR production. UF CBs are good, but I was more impressed with their D-line last year than anything. And then you have LSU RBs. Other than Chubb, Fournette was the best RB I watched last season. He's a BEAST. I'm hoping our O-line here at home can improve enough to put J. Hurd and A. Kamara in this category by this time next year lol...but that's a tall order, to say the least. Enjoy the off-season guys (and gals), hope it's a healthy and jail-free one...
Everything you people are saying is all well and good and self righteous, but I for one am relieved. And you can't tell me that in TN's position (rebuilding team with an OC that just left for the NFL), you would feel any different. We KNOW where he's signing. I'd rather know that he's a 100% than be sitting here wondering if he took that visit with an intent on, if it all seemed perfect, flipping...
I just hope the narrative continues to be "watch out in 2016." We as TN fans are about to witness something truly special (in 2015)....a freshman/sophomore D-line that could be one of the nation's best. I haven't seen much film on Phillips or Tuttle, but I know McKenzie is the real deal. He dominates the point of attack, he has a rock solid base, and his arm/hand work is a perfect combination of quickness and power. A one-trick pony he is NOT. I cannot WAIT to see our 2015 Defense in action! -RISE TO THE TOP-
Our (TN's) O-Line needs to improve 10 FOLD, at minimum, next season in order for us to be consistent in the passing/run game. Our potential on the outside will remain just that, potential, and nothing more, if Dobbs doesn't feel comfortable in the pocket. The read option masked that weakness/youth against mediocre D, but Mizzou and Vandy exposed the fact that we have to break down, become stronger, more fundamentally sound, and get smarter in our execution. If those things come together up front....... WOW, we'll be flying high...
