Really? First year head coach with a completely decimated roster? Inconsistency to be expected. Bowers in 4th quarter was the only reason UGA won. Bama was dead man walking that got lucky. Even with the New Mexico State disaster, Auburn should have been 8-5. Which would have been very good for Coach Freeze given circumstances - get ready, Auburn is coming.

This is Capitalism guys. The Courts opened the market. The Legislatures (including Congress) will regulate it since College Sport's self-regulation has failed. There will be market chaos (boy, we see it now). But in time, this new market will settle as a Capitalist market (driven by greed destroying the Game) or a Socialist market (driven by University/Conference cronies) or hopefully by something in the middle where all stakeholders - including fans - all win. Something fair - "Fairism"

As an Auburn fan you should be quite aware of teams jumping in the last poll of the season. Remember Bo Jackson? 1983? How Miami Won it's first national championship?
Miami came into its Bowl game against #1 Nebraska (reigning champs) game ranked No. 5, but losses by No. 2 Texas in the Cotton Bowl and No. 4 Illinois in the Rose Bowl launched them to No. 1 (despite protests from No. 3 Auburn, who played the toughest schedule in the nation that year). Miami has one loss also - against the Gators BY 25 PTS!!

Norvel voted against expanding the Playoff to 12 earlier... His SOS was 55th (against AL's tougher SOS) and no where in the Committee's charter is there stated Undefeated season - this from an Auburn fan - Karma after FSU plays Winston in BCS game in 2013
Would also add to Ron that Bo Nix has a record completion of 78.6% vs Daniel's 72.2% - agree if plays better against WA - combined with the marketing and anti-SEC these days, Nix wins.

As an Auburn fan, and after playing both teams close, I think this Nick Saban Alabama team - and Jalen Milroe - will be beating the dogs next Saturday. He's unstoppable (think Cam Newton here)

Auburn was in similar position as A&M last season. Had two realistic candidates with Kiffin and Freeze - Auburn has been historically more successful than A&M and could not close Kiffin so A&M wouldn't. Auburn goes with good coach having been banished for cheating on Wife - A&M should do same with Petrino. Hire Petrino A&M.
