The pressure is on the Dawgs. They will be favored by 9 - 10 points. The Cocks have nothing to lose.
And you would rather them say "we won but we still suck"? Or better yet, just not comment at all?
The statement should be that the SEC west is inferior to Clemson. Aside from barely losing to Alabama in 2016, they had rolled off consecutive victories against Auburn, LSU, and then Alabama in 2017.
You're one of the teams that lost to the east. I can see how you would be defensive.
Until they declare victories based on yardage gained versus scores, I'll draw my own conclusions. Maybe Joe Cox should take his own advice and "find that weakness, that one flaw" in his writing and work on it. He failed to mention that South Carolina played a team that many predicted as highly as a play-off team. He also failed to mention how NC State's highly touted DL, that everyone was talking about, never got a sack in the game. I know So Car. is not a play-off team, but the level of improvement I saw Saturday excites me for the remainder of the season. The SEC east is 2-1 against the ACC.
So what's it been for you guys? 9 years or so?
I think the ranking system is a joke: California @#1, Utah @#8, North Carolina @#10, Penn. @ #12, Ky, Wash., WV. and Ill. are all a joke and not representative of the top college football states.
That would still be subjective if the intent is to get the best teams in the playoff.
I like the way you think. I thought this is why there was a Play-off committee - to determine the actual "best" 4 teams that would represent. Record alone does not indicate the true quality of a team. The same can be said about Ohio State for that matter. If they had not dominated in the playoffs last year, I would not want them in due to pansy schedule.
Clemson hasn't played any quality opponents yet. They were very fortunate to escape 0-3 Louisville with a win. Let's see how they fare against Notre Dame this week.....and then Ga Tech. the following week before bumping them in the standings. They may not even be in the top 25 in 3 weeks.
If Stoops can't do something with "what he has to work with", then why would he be considered a great coach. Anyone can lose with a poor team. It takes a great coach to win with a poor team.
I've often wondered why Georgia hasn't won a NC recently with the talent they recruit. If they truly develop talent, the players they recruit must be far overrated. They remind me of Notre dame in that respect.
If recruiting is a consideration, Spurrier is not #2 in SEC coaching. I'll agree that he is very good at "in game decisions", play calling, and QB development.
Begging your pardon but Missouri didn't "prove themselves" last year as much as the other team from Columbia (as in S.C) proved they could blow a double digit lead in the 4th quarter. And don't try to take credit for it being coaching. We also blew double digit leads in the 4th quarter against Ky., and Tn. Was Pinky coaching those games too.

Since you're telling us what God doesn't care about, I'm certain he doesn't care if there's a Chaplain in the locker room or anywhere else for that matter. Recruits should take all of this into consideration when selecting schools. If praying offends, they should find a school that doesn't do that
Is it possible for anyone to forecast a top 20 and NOT include SoCal or Notre Dame? Clemson at # 11 is laughable after losing 8 defensive starters and an Offensive Coordinator.
If we can't show better in a Bowl than we have in regular seasons, I say we stay home even if we qualify. Who needs more embarrassment?
Advice should be to limit alcohol consumption. No way these two were sober.
The gamecocks are still beating the Dogs pretty regularly (4 of last 5).
