I think it's interesting that Butch Jones is an offensive mind, but has mainly started rebuilding the defense. A lot of his focus has been on the defense. We rose up on the defensive side last year, and I thought it was cool to see an offensive minded coach be so involved with defense. It's a great balance.

Kid isn't too smart. I just don't understand. I would hesitate to say he's a key cog for the Vols. He was outperformed all last year and looked like he didn't deserve to be out there. I know he was playing a position that was new to him, but still. The dude got wrecked and was tripping over his own feet. Hopefully our two new tackles will step up.
Murph, I'm not writing this just because I'm a Vols fan, but I love reading your stuff. I enjoy all of the other film studies you have done. I'm a young football coach and I love reading actual football strategy and philosophy. I know these reads only scratch the surface of what's beneath, but it's refreshing to read good information other than just an analyst's opinion of what the coach should have done. Also, where did you receive your education, and what degree did you obtain? Your writing style is also refreshing to read haha. Keep up the solid work!

Tennessee won't be in the New Year's Six. I'm tired of the media putting too much hype into us. Give us two more top 5 recruiting classes or maybe even one more and then we can start talking. I hate that a target is always being put on our backs because of stupid predictions (example: MIzzou game 2014). Why can't the media just be realistic instead of hopeful?

Obviously you guys don't know what it's like in Baton Rouge. I've spent a lot of time there and I don't see how anyone would want to play anywhere else. LSU football is a religion down there and kids are reared up to be faithful followers. I can see how he would say that.

Congrats! You know, people forget this is all cyclical. They act like 8 years is a millennium. It isn't.
Man, I'm glad he apologized for tweeting that to Hugh Freeze. However, that lineman didn't have a great comeback. I mean he didn't beat Khalil 35-0 haha. Khalil would destroy him and that guy knew it. If he is so confident, why even reply to that? I know why, though. It's scary when one of your commits is flirting with another team, and they are rubbing it in your face. Drew might commit to UT, he might not, but it is sure fun seeing Ole Miss squirm.
