On Sunday, CBS Sports released another post in its series titled “Candid Coaches,” where FBS coaches are able to talk freely about their colleagues under protection of anonymity.

One coach accused Alabama’s Nick Saban of cheating, and another said Texas A&M’s Jimbo Fisher tries too hard to be like Saban.

However, only nice things were said about new Florida coach (and former Mississippi State coach) Dan Mullen, who took the Bulldogs to new heights during his long tenure in Starkville. The anonymous coach was very impressed with Mullen’s work in Starkville, saying it’s a tough gig:

“I thought what [Dan Mullen] did at Mississippi State was amazing. Mississippi State, who wants to take that job?”

Mullen has his hands full once again, taking over a Florida team that finished a disappointing 4-7 in 2017, thanks in large part to some important disciplinary problems.

If Mullen can work his magic with Florida’s quarterbacks and get the Gators back to a bowl game in his first year with the program, he may get even more than 8 percent of the “underrated” vote next year.
