Billy Napier shared how Kingsley Eguakun is doing before Florida faces Utah at Rice-Eccles Stadium in the season opener. The news was discussed at Friday’s press conference.

Napier didn’t disclose what injury has been hampering Eguakun and noted that the Florida OL is listed as day-to-day. Napier did talk about how Eguakun’s backup Jake Slaughter has been outstanding lately, however.

Eguakun would be a big blow for the offensive line if he’s unable to play against the Utes. The veteran center has not missed a game for the Gators over the last two seasons, playing in all 13 games from 2021-2022.

The offense would benefit greatly from Eguakun’s presence. He helped anchor an offensive line that blocked for 594 total yards against Tennessee last season.

Napier and Florida have never lost to Florida. The Gators are 2-0 when playing the Utes all-time.

It will be a tough task for the Gators to go into Salt Lake City and come out victorious, especially with the change in altitude. Salt Lake City’s elevation sits at 4,265 feet.
