Florida has received a verbal commitment from Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora offensive lineman Fletcher Westphal.

The blue-chip tackle prospect revealed his commitment on Monday, picking the Gators over Clemson, Georgia, Auburn, and Arkansas. He’s a 6-foot-8, 330-pound lineman with prototypical size and length to be a blindside protector. He’s ranked as one of the top players from Virginia in the 2024 class and gives the Gators their 11th known blue-chip pledge so far.

“I picked a school where my educational and football opportunities are matched,” he said of his decision.

Westphal is a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite. he’s ranked as the No. 5 prospect from Virginia and the No. 23 offensive tackle in the class. Overall, he sits at No. 288 in the national player rankings.

As a junior last fall, he played both sides of the ball for Tuscarora, seeing snaps on the interior of the defensive line and at left tackle on the offensive side. He was a full-time tackle as a sophomore as well.

He took an official visit to Florida on June 16. Visits to Clemson and Georgia preceded that trip, and he wrapped up the month with an official to Arkansas. At the end of the day, Florida stood above the rest.

The Gators now hold 18 known commitments in the 2024 class, a group that ranks third nationally in the 247 Composite team rankings.
