When the 2024 schedules for each SEC football squad were revealed on Wednesday, Greg McElroy and Cole Cubelic agreed that one team will face a handful of tough tasks from beginning to end.

On ESPN’s Always College Football with Greg McElroy, McElroy and Cubelic were both on the same page in saying Florida has the 2024 schedule out of all of the SEC teams.

“I don’t know how anyone can look at this with a straight face and say it’s not Florida,” McElroy said.

The Gators kick off their 2024 campaign with a home against Miami in August.

“(Miami) is a good football team,” McElroy said. “They’re in position to take a big leap. They’ve recruited well and maintained good solid, stable pieces. They had freshmen who were playing impactful roles for them.”

Cubelic added that Florida’s season-opening contest against the Hurricanes is “going to mean a lot,” especially a matchup that is “right out of the gates.”

“We’re going to have all off-season to hype up that in-state rivalry game,” Cubelic said.

McElroy mentioned Florida’s other in-state opponents in UCF and Florida State. The Gators also have a neutral site game against Georgia in Jacksonville.

“We know how that (UCF) game will go. We know what that will mean,” Cubelic said. “(FSU) isn’t going to be an easy task.”

McElroy noted that 10 of the 11 FBS opponents that Florida will face next season are in bowl games this season. He added that the Gators have only one home game between Weeks 7 and 11 in 2024.

“This Florida schedule…I’m not going to say it’s unfair, but man it certainly feels that way a little,” McElroy said.

Cubelic said he hasn’t seen other 2024 schedules outside of the SEC, but added that he doesn’t think he’s seen another schedule like Florida’s slate in years past.

“There’s no way we’re going to see one worse than this,” Cubelic said. “There’s no one we’re going to see with that level of difficulty.”
