Aaron Murray had some very high praise for the Georgia defense after a dominant performance against Clemson on Saturday in Charlotte.

The Bulldogs’ pass rush was unstoppable, sacking D.J. Uiagalelei 7 times as the Tigers managed just 180 yards of total offense, including a pair of yards rushing. A game like that certainly bodes well for a program that expects to be in the College Football Playoff discussion at the end of the year.

“This is the best defense I’ve ever seen Georgia have,” the Bulldogs great said on SiriusXM on Monday. “The front 7 is incredible; the defensive line is super scary…We know the defensive ends off the side. Nakobe Dean is an absolute monster at linebacker…

“I wouldn’t be surprised if you look at the end of the year and points given up per game is, like 10 to 13.”

While Murray noted that the offense won’t be among the most explosive in the conference, he felt that the Bulldogs’ defense would be more than capable of carrying the load in 2021.

“They don’t have the dudes on the outside to make this an explosive offense, but you don’t have to be, and I think [that] the message to JT (Daniels) and the rest of the offense is ‘If we can just take care of the football, we’re going to win every game on our schedule until we face Alabama in the SEC Championship’.”
