Tate Rodemaker is moving on from Florida State and intends to enter the transfer portal, according to a report.

That news was first shared by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz on Monday afternoon. The report also says Rodemaker will not play for Florida State in the Orange Bowl against Georgia.

Zenitz cites a “source close to the family” who says Rodemaker and his family “reluctantly” came to the decision to enter the portal.

Florida State has been linked to multiple quarterbacks in the transfer portal this offseason. Former Washington State quarterback Cam Ward and former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei have both made trips to Tallahassee this month.

Rodemaker spent the past four seasons as Florida State’s backup quarterback. Most recently, Rodemaker led Florida State to a road win over Florida in the regular season finale to clinch a 12-0 record for the Noles. However, Rodemaker suffered a concussion in that game and was unable to play in the ACC Championship Game against Louisville.

With Rodemaker set to transfer, Florida State will likely start Brock Glenn in the Orange Bowl against Georgia. This will be Glenn’s second consecutive start for FSU. He’s the last remaining healthy scholarship quarterback on the roster as AJ Duffy has also entered the portal and Jordan Travis is still recovering from a leg injury.

Florida State will face Georgia in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30.
