Mark Stoops and Kentucky got a win last week against Miami-Ohio, but it was underwhelming, especially early in the game, and on the offensive line. The Cats have made changes to its personnel, but still has a thin running back depth chart amid the Chris Rodgriguez absence, and injury to Ramon Jefferson.

On defense, Stoops understands the challenge of slowing down Florida QB Anthony Richardson, and agrees with the consensus feeling about Richardson’s athleticism.

“It’s tough to single out any one thing,” Stoops said on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “He has a talented arm. Everybody is going to say what an athlete he is, but he can rip it and throw the ball as well.”

Stoops’ own quarterback, Will Levis, is looking to hit his stride, but has also been in the SEC long enough that defenses will make adjustments against him.

“With Will, like any great quarterback, teams we’re playing are going to change things up on him,” Stoops said. “… We expect that this week. … Will’s playing at a really, really high level. He made some very good throws last week under pressure.”
