Brian Kelly got off to a rough start at LSU, and after the game, he was the subject of a troll job from a former Notre Dame player who transferred to Florida State.

Dillan Gibbons, an offensive lineman, wrote on social media, “No fake accents on this team.”

Gibbons before moving to Florida State played in 29 games with one start at Notre Dame as he was part of Fighting Irish teams that were 43-8 with 2 College Football Playoff appearances in his 4 years. Gibbons saw action in 11 games with one start as Notre Dame reached the ACC Championship Game and College Football Playoff Semifinal in 2020.

Gibbons’ comments came after Shyheim Brown’s blocked LSU kicker Damian Ramos’ extra-point attempt and gave Florida State a 24-23 victory Sunday night that spoiled Kelly’s debut as Tigers coach.

It was a frantic finish as LSU was on the cusp of an apparent two-touchdown comeback in the final 4:07 only to leave disappointed as FSU players and fans celebrated on the field in New Orleans.

While Jayden Daniels, a transfer from Arizona State, got the start qt quarterback and completed 26 of 35 passes for 209 yards and two TDS, and rushed for 114 yards, there were questions about wide receiver production. Star Kayshon Boutte, for example, had just 2 catches for 20 yards.
