Brian Kelly stepped to the podium for his typical post-practice media availability on Thursday and answered the first question before it was even asked.

Star LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels practiced with the team on Thursday. Kelly said he expects Daniels to pass concussion protocol and listed Daniels as probable for Saturday’s game against Florida.

“Most of the things that he normally does within his preparation, he’s been able to, I think, prepare in the manner that he feels comfortable,” Kelly said. “And we feel comfortable or we wouldn’t put him out there. Garrett’s too good of a quarterback for us to compromise the offense in any way.”

Daniels was on the receiving end of a heavy hit from Alabama’s Dallas Turner and had to exit last Saturday’s loss. That put his status up in the air for Florida.

But he went through workouts on Wednesday and it sounds like Daniels has a strong chance of making it 10 starts in 10 games when Saturday rolls around.

Daniels has been playing at a Heisman level for LSU this season, piloting the best-scoring offense in all of college football. Daniels ranks fifth in passing (2,882 yards) and leads all FBS players in total offense (3,476 yards). He’s averaging 10 yards a play and has 33 touchdowns on the season.

LSU faces off against Florida on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network from Baton Rouge.
