Russell Gage offered his own update on Tuesday afternoon after the former LSU wide receiver suffered an injury late in Monday night’s game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Dallas Cowboys.

Gage was put on a stretcher and taken off the field in what was a quiet moment at the end of the Cowboys’ victory.

He was injured after an incomplete pass as he received a hard shot to the neck from safety Donovan Wilson. After the game, coach Todd Bowles said he has a concussion, was taken to a Tampa hospital to evaluate “potential neck injuries.” Said he was moving his fingers when he was down on the field. Later on Tuesday, Bowles said he expects Gage to be released from the hospital.

“I appreciate all of the texts, calls, thoughts and prayers you all have expressed towards my family and I. I just wanted to let you all know that I’m doing great and in great spirits! Thank you!,” Gage shared on social media.
