Jim Harbaugh is facing the music in terms of his alleged false statements made to NCAA investigators.

Harbaugh is expected to be suspended for 4 games following a negotiated resolution, according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports.

Michigan’s first 4 games are all at home, and against East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green and Rutgers team that finished 4-8 last season. The Wolverines, who are expected to be a favorite to win the B1G and return to the College Football Playoff after they finished 13-1 a season ago, are also expected to be ranked in the top 5 in preseason polls.

Alleged violations stem from impermissible contact with recruits during dead periods and the use of a defensive analyst for on-field coaching activities.

The NCAA enforcement staff has reportedly alleged that Harbaugh was dishonest about the recruiting violations in his initial meeting with investigators. A quick resolution broke down in January, Dellenger reported, after Harbaugh refused to admit that he lied to NCAA staff. Harbaugh has maintained he didn’t recall the events when first speaking with investigators but that he was never purposefully dishonest.
