Drew Lock played some hero ball Monday night in Seattle.

The former Mizzou quarterback started for Geno Smith while Seattle’s usual QB1 deals with an injury. But Lock responded very well to his new assignment, completing 22 of his 33 passing attempts for 208 yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions to down the Philidelphia Eagles, 20-17.

And perhaps his best pass of the day came at the perfect time. Lock found a streaking Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 29-yard score. Seattle improves to 7-7 on the year with the playoff race intensifying.

Following the game, Lock got a little choked up when talking about what the win and the moment meant to him. This is 2 minutes and 30 seconds of gold, folks:

Lock’s NFL career has seen its ups and downs. The former Tiger entered the league in 2019 with the Denver Broncos and spent 3 seasons there before ending up at Seattle prior to the 2022 season. However, he did not see the field for Seattle in 2022.
