Ole Miss RB Jordan Wilkins pledges the Rebels will fight on despite bowl ban

All the negativity surrounding the Ole Miss program following the school’s announcement of a bowl ban in response to the latest notice of allegations from the NCAA doesn’t seem to be getting to the team’s players.
Following the lead of receiver A.J. Brown, who posted an encouraging message Wednesday night, Ole Miss running back Jordan Wilkins has a message of his own he’d like to share with Rebel Nation. Wilkins pledges the team will take the field 12 times this season, starting Sept. 2, and will play with a chip on its shoulder all season long.

Wilkins missed the entire 2016 season after he was ruled academically ineligible after receiving incorrect information from an academic advisor. (Simply stated, Wilkins had yet to pass enough courses to be eligible as a junior last season.) In his first two seasons on the field, Wilkins rushed for 740 yards and five touchdowns.
It will be fascinating to see how the Rebels respond to the school’s bowl ban and possible sanctions that come from the NCAA when the investigation officially comes to an end. Ole Miss opens the 2017 Sept. 2 in Oxford against South Alabama.
