CBS Sports unveils SEC bowl projections for 2017
CBS Sports has announced its preseason bowl projections for the 2017 College Football Season.
CBS is predicting 10 SEC teams will compete in bowls with three participating in a New Year’s Six bowl. Jerry Palm with CBS Sports shared the results.
CBS has Alabama finishing the season with a No. 1 ranking and playing No. 4 Florida State in the Sugar Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff. Alabama and FSU are already set to face off this season in the Chic-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta on September 2.
Florida and LSU are the other two SEC teams predicted to participate in a New Year’s Six bowl. CBS has the Gators squaring off with South Florida in the Peach Bowl, both as at-large selections. LSU is predicted to square off with Oklahoma State, both as at-large selections, in the Cotton Bowl.
Here is where the rest of the SEC schools are predicted to play in the postseason:
Georgia: vs. Nebraska in the Outback Bowl
Auburn: vs. Miami in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
Tennessee: vs. Virginia Tech in the TaxSlayer Bowl
Arkansas: vs. Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl
Mississippi State: vs. Georgia Tech in the Belk Bowl
Kentucky: vs. Northwestern in the Music City Bowl
Texas A&M: vs. TCU in the Texas Bowl
