Rivalries have long been a top priority across the SEC once Oklahoma and Texas made moves to join the league. Now as the official schedule reveal is set for Wednesday night, ESPN insider Chris Low has shed some light on how rivalries will unfold in 2024.

The SEC made it a priority to maintain the historical rivalries in 2024, Low reported. Alabama will play at Tennessee and LSU, for instance, while Texas A&M will face LSU at home and Arkansas at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Also, Texas will travel to Arkansas in a meeting of old Southwest Conference rivals, and Oklahoma and Texas will continue their annual rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Georgia will keep its annual rivalries with Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.

All 14 existing SEC schools will play either Oklahoma or Texas in 2024, and Georgia will visit Texas and Alabama will travel to face Oklahoma.

The scheduling debate ramped up earlier this month during spring meetings in Destin, Florida. SEC leaders have raised alarm bells about going to 9 games with existing schedules in 2024 including games such as Texas A&M against Notre Dame, and Alabama at Wisconsin, not to mention the existing in-state ACC rivals.
