The 2017 season just ended, but already teams, coaches and analysts are looking ahead to the 2018 season now that National Signing Day is done.

Naturally, after a year in which two SEC teams made it to the National Championship Game, the conference will have plenty of highly rated teams in 2018.

When the season kicks off this coming fall, here’s how the S&P+ projections see things shaking out, with three SEC squads in the top 10:

  • No. 2 — Alabama
  • No. 5 — Auburn
  • No. 6 — Georgia
  • No. 14 — Mississippi State
  • No. 16 — LSU
  • No. 24 — Texas A&M
  • No. 25 — Ole Miss
  • No. 30 — Mizzou
  • No. 32 — Florida
  • No. 35 — South Carolina
  • No. 52 — Arkansas
  • No. 64 — Kentucky
  • No. 75 — Vanderbilt
  • No. 79 — Tennessee

Interestingly, the rankings have Ohio State at No. 1, just like they did for most of the 2017 season.

However, things can change, as it’s still early and teams haven’t even started spring practices yet, so we’ll have to keep an eye on the S&P+ projections as the offseason wears on.
