Video: Referee takes a big spill on the sideline in Alabama-Auburn game
An official chasing a play toward the Alabama bench took a big spill Saturday.
Auburn’s Rudy Ford was chasing Alabama quarterback Jake Coker and hit him late. As the official followed the action, he slipped on his covering along the sideline and hit his head hard.
He did return to the game.

He did his job though, getting the flag out in time to call the late hit.
Can't believe he got the flag out #IronBowl #ALAvsAUB pic.twitter.com/Jp32p9Ju6A

Fans did get a good laugh out of the fall.
"And down goes Frazier" I hope the ref is ok, but that was one of the funniest falls I've ever seen! ?

No matter what sport. A ref falls down he's out for 5 minutes. #ironbowl #wwe

And we’re praising the official for “taking it like a man.” #ALAvsAUB

Is there a concussion protocol for an official? #IronBowl #ALAvsAUB
