Saturday recruiting roundup: Teams make final push before Signing Day
The final Saturday before National Signing Day was a busy day for all 14 SEC programs as they aim to lock down their respective recruiting classes this winter.
Here’s a roundup of all the recruiting action that took place on Saturday:
COMMITMENTS
- Saturday’s biggest recruiting news actually came late Friday night when four-star inside linebacker prospect Leo Lewis decommitted from Ole Miss while on a visit to LSU.
- Kentucky lost three commitments earlier this week, including a three-star defensive end, but it was able to add three-star defensive end prospect Josh Allen to move back in the right direction.
- Missouri made moves on Saturday as well, adding three-star defensive end Nate Howard and three-star tight end Josh Moore to its current recruiting haul.
VISITS
- Five-star defensive end Terry Beckner made his official visit to Missouri this weekend, and by all accounts he was well received at the Tigers basketball game on Saturday afternoon.
Terry Beckner Jr.'s here. The students start a "Ter-ry Beck-ner" chant. Some are wearing No. 79 jerseys.

Knowing Terry Beckner's famous affinity for violin music, MU opts with a fiddler for the National Anthem. And he does a real nice job.

- In an attempt to make up for lost time on the recruiting trail following a coaching change, Florida hosted 14 visits this weekend, including four-star guard Quarvez Boulware and four-star offensive tackle Tyree St. Louis. Boulware remains uncommitted, while St. Louis is currently committed to Miami. Florida hosted a number of four- and five-star prospects each of the last two weekends.
- Tennessee hosted three four-star recruits this weekend — offensive tackle Drew Richmond, cornerback Justin Martin and wideout Preston Williams. Martin and Williams have been committed to Tennessee, while Richmond remains committed to Ole Miss at this time.
- Lewis was one of two four- and five-star recruits to visit LSU this weekend. He was joined by five-star defensive end Cece Jefferson, who remains uncommitted. Four-star safety Jamal Peters was supposed to visit LSU this weekend but backed out of that visit, indicating he is likely sticking with his commitment to Mississippi State.
- The Tigers also received an official visit from three-star safety Justin Reid, younger brother of former LSU all-conference performer Eric Reid.

- Texas A&M received five visits from four-star recruits this weekend, including uncommitted linebacker prospect Roquan Smith. The Aggies also hosted a pair of Texas cornerback commits in Kris Boyd and Holton Hill.
- Auburn, which has hosted visits from a bevy of touted prospects the last two weekends, hosted just one four-star recruit this weekend in four-star defensive end Prince Tega Wanogho, who remains uncommitted. He reclassified from 2016 to 2015 earlier this winter.
- While Lewis visited LSU, Ole Miss hosted a visit from four-star athlete Jaason Lewis, a Virginia native who is currently committed to Arizona State.
- Kentucky hosted seven visits this weekend while adding Allen to its recruiting class, but none of those visitors maintains a designation better than three stars.
- Despite suffering a slew of decommitments since the end of the season, South Carolina did not host any official visits this weekend. However, it did hold its annual Junior Day as it began to get a jump on its 2016 recruiting class.
