Here is a look at some of the SEC’s top performing position units in Week 9:

QUARTERBACKS — Texas A&M: With apologies to Ole Miss and QB Chad Kelly, who threw for nearly 400 yards against Auburn, we’re giving the nod to the Aggies for the best performance this week. True freshman QB Kyler Murray received his first career start, and he took that opportunity and ran with it. Literally. Murray brought a new dimension to a struggling Aggies offense, rushing for 156 yards and a touchdowns, while also completing 20 of 28 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown. He didn’t turn the ball over, and the Aggies won with 544 yards of total offense.

RUNNING BACKS Florida: Gators junior Kelvin Taylor had his signature game against Georgia last season, running for nearly 200 yards in an upset win against the Bulldogs. Taylor’s encore performance this season was pretty solid as well. He ran for 121 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-3 win. His performance was backed by freshman RB Jordan Scarlett, who rushed for 96 yards on nine carries, with a long of 60 yards.

WIDE RECEIVERSOle MissRivaled perhaps only by Texas A&M’s crew, this is the SEC’s elite WR unit. They are particularly dangerous now that their leader, junior Laquon Treadwell, has found his groove through the middle of the season. Treadwell posted yet another 100-yard receiving game against Auburn, catching seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. Damore’ea Stringfellow had a team-high eight receptions for 71 yards, and while Cody Core and Quincy Adeboyejo had relatively quiet days, Derrick Jones picked up the slack with a 45-yard touchdown reception.

OFFENSIVE LINETennesseeThis is a battered group, so they’re getting a tip of the cap for getting the job done against Kentucky on Saturday despite all the injuries. Joshua Dobbs was sacked just once, and the Vols rushing attack was solid all night, averaging 5.8 yards per rushing attempt.

DEFENSIVE LINE Texas A&M: The Aggies defense had nine tackles for loss, including four sacks, in a win against South Carolina. Myles Garrett, who is perhaps the best defensive lineman in the country, totaled seven tackles, including two tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Fellow defensive end Daeshon Hall had four tackles and a sack, and DT Julien Obioha had five tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.

LINEBACKERSVanderbilt: The Commodores lost 34-0 to No. 18 Houston on Saturday, which probably qualifies as a performance unworthy of praise of any kind. But no matter how pitiful the Commodores offense may be, the linebacker corp has been solid all season and deserves some due for its performance against an explosive Cougars offense. Houston ran the ball 51 times, but was only able to garner 2.9 yards per attempt. Zach Cunningham had nine tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. His strong effort was backed by fellow linebackers Darreon Herring with eight tackles and Stephen Weatherly (six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, fumble recovery).

DEFENSIVE BACKSFlorida: In retrospect, throwing Faton Batua out for his first career start against the Florida secondary probably wasn’t a very good choice by the Georgia coaching staff. He was picked off four times in the Bulldogs’ 27-3 loss, including three interceptions by Gators defensive backs. Keanu Neal, Marcus Maye and Vernon Hargreaves III got in the fun for the Gators on Saturday, each securing an interception. Florida allowed just 15 of 34 Georgia pass attempts to be completed for 154 yards.
