UCF has turned into the media darling following its 2017 undefeated season and Peach Bowl win over Auburn, and the Knights brand has been everywhere recently.

The team even put up a “national champions” banner on its practice field. Really.

Now, the NFL is set to honor UCF’s team at Sunday’s Pro Bowl in Orlando, and the team is invited to walk out onto the field after the first quarter.

“When we thought about UCF and the amazing season they had going undefeated and their bowl game win, we thought there was really no better way, especially in the city of Orlando, to do something for that college celebration of football than to honor the UCF team in stadium on Sunday,” said Matt Shapiro to the Orlando Sentinel, director of events strategy for the NFL.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, NFL representatives wanted a stronger college presence surrounding the event this year, and UCF was the natural fit, although Shapiro confirms they won’t recognize the Knights as the actual national champions.

“I think we’re going to focus on their undefeated season,” Shapiro said. “I don’t know that we’re going to get into the business of labeling them national champions. But we’re just excited to honor them and celebrate them.”

The Pro Bowl is set to kick off Sunday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
