Jayden Sellers’ nickname is “Puppy,” but he’s choosing to be a bird for his college career.

Sellers announced he will be joining his brother at South Carolina to play for Shane Beamer. LaNorris Sellers is in his freshman season after signing as part of the 2023 recruiting class. Jayden, a Class of 2025 prospect, shared his big news on social media Thursday.

A South Florence standout, the younger Sellers is listed as measuring 5-11 and 165 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Sellers is rated 3-stars, the No. 7 recruit in the state of South Carolina, No. 65 wide receiver and No. 461 prospect overall in the 2025 recruiting class on the 247Sports Composite.

Sellers has picked up 5 scholarship offers. He chose South Carolina over early interest from Cincinnati, ECU, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.

The Gamecocks entered Sellers’ recruitment in December and got him on campus for an April visit. Sellers shared a photo of how he looks in South Carolina’s black helmet and black jersey combo.

LaNorris Sellers has played in just 1 game so far this season. If he plays in 4 games or fewer, he would be able to take a redshirt. There’s certainly a chance Gamecock fans are celebrating a Sellers-to-Sellers connection in the next few years.
