Paul Finebaum believes Jimbo Fisher’s time at Texas A&M could come to an end sooner rather than later.

Finebaum detailed why he thinks the Aggies head coach could be on the hot seat, especially after a loss to Miami on Saturday.

Not only did Fisher and the Aggies lose Saturday, but Texas had a huge win over Alabama. For Finebaum, that puts even more pressure on Fisher.

“One thing that happened yesterday that may be more important to this conversation than even the result in Miami, and that was the first conversation,” Finebaum said on The Matt Barrie Show. “If Texas really is back, that’s a problem for Jimbo Fisher. You could say ‘who cares about Texas’ while A&M was getting used to the SEC, but Texas is in the SEC now. That was the greatest source of pride of the Aggies… In one night in Tuscaloosa, (Steve Sarkisian) moved forward and Jimbo Fisher on the way home had to be sick to his stomach realizing what that means for him, because that adds significant pressure now.”

It’s not question that Fisher’s contract buyout weighs heavily on Texas A&M, but Finebaum believes that at some point the Aggies will have to overlook the cost and make a decision that benefits the program.

“You have to talk about money,” Finebaum said. “At some point A&M officials have to look at him and go ‘are we going to let $75 million affect the progress of this program.”
