It was previously reported that McCoy was considering a return to Knoxville for next season.
McCoy was limited to just 5 games this season because of an ankle injury. He had surgery in early October and missed the remainder of the 2023 campaign, but is expected to slot into a big role for the Vols again next season.
In 2022, McCoy’s best year at the collegiate level to date, he caught 52 passes for 667 yards and 4 touchdowns.
The former 5-star recruit began his collegiate career at USC but transferred to Tennessee ahead of the 2022 season. Over the past 2 years, he’s caught 69 passes for 884 yards and 5 touchdowns while playing a pivotal role in the Vols’ offense.
Tennessee finished off the 2023 season with a 9-4 record.
