Tennessee landed a commitment from 3-star 2019 QB Brian Maurer out of Florida, and he plans on being a big part of the Vols’ future.

Though he was recruited by OC Tyson Helton, who is now reportedly going to be the head coach at Western Kentucky, Maurer is still firm in his commitment to the Vols.

As for who he’d like to be the team’s new offensive coordinator, Maurer wasn’t shy about sharing his opinion. He tweeted that he’d love Air Raid connoisseur Kliff Kingsbury, who was just fired by Texas Tech:

But, should Kingsbury go elsewhere, Maurer admitted that he’d also be cool with former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze assuming the role of Tennessee offensive coordinator:

It appears that Freeze is the frontrunner to land the job at the moment, but we’ll see how the search plays out moving forward.
