National Signing Day is on Feb. 4 and the SEC is primed to bring in another impressive haul of top recruits in the 2015 recruiting class.

In the next 25 days, Saturday Down South counts down the top 25 recruits either committed to the SEC or strongly considering SEC schools.

No. 15 Tyron Johnson

Position: Wide Receiver
247Sports ranking: No. 26 overall; No. 1 overall in Louisiana
Committed: LSU

The skinny: ”One cut and go!” That phrase describes Johnson so well. From the fertile state of Louisiana, Tyron Johnson will join a long list of premier LSU receivers. However, Johnson’s a little different than Malachi Dupre and Travin Dural. He’s a burner, and he’ll remind you of former Tigers star Odell Beckham more than he’ll remind you of either Dupre or Dural. Johnson’s MO is getting the football in space and housing it, but he’s also very good in traffic, finding running lanes to run after the catch.

Freshman projection: Tyron Johnson’s biggest obstacle to early playing time is the quarterback situation. With players such as Travin Dural, Malachi Dupre, John Diarse and Trey Quinn already on the roster and a minimal-impact passing game, how many touches would Johnson realistically get on offense? Johnson has as much or more talent than every single returner, but the lack of a passing game could hinder his — as well as the others’ — impact in 2015. Johnson’s biggest impact may come on special teams in 2015.
