Projected 2014 starters: Texas A&M
SDS predicts the game one starters for all 14 SEC teams. Next up, the Texas A&M Aggies.
The Texas A&M Aggies open the season on the road at South Carolina, and here is our projected starting lineup:
Offense | Defense | ||
QB | Kenny Hill | DE | Myles Garrett |
RB | Tra Carson | DT | Alonzo Williams |
WR | Malcome Kennedy | DT | Justin Manning |
WR | Speedy Noil | DE | Julien Obioha |
WR | Ricky Seals-Jones | OLB | Donnie Baggs |
TE | Cam Clear | MLB | Jordan Mastrogiovanni |
LT | Cedric Ogbuehi | OLB | Tommy Sanders |
LG | Javis Harrison | CB | De’Vante Harris |
C | Mike Matthews | CB | Deshazor Everett |
RG | Joseph Cheek | SS | Howard Matthews |
RT | Germain Ifedi | FS | Floyd Raven |
Takeaways:
- Kyle Allen and Kenny Hill are still battling for the starting job, and Coach Sumlin announced that Hill is in-fact the starter for game one.
- Three freshmen Kyle Allen, Speedy Noil and Myles Garrett will have to play major roles for the team, and redshirt freshman Ricky Seals-Jones could be the next Mike Evans.
- The Aggies’ offensive line should be very good, headlined, of course, by LT Cedric Ogbuehi and Jarvis Harrison.
- The defensive line and linebackers need the most improvement, and Garrett could help make an immediate impact.
- Linebacker Jordan Mastrogiovanni is really starting to make a name for himself, and the secondary is the biggest strength of the unit, headlined by cornerback Deshazor Everett.
