Talking season is over and tonight, SEC football officially begins.

Here are 10 questions we want answered during the first weekend of college football:

10 burning questions for Week 1

10. Western Kentucky at Vanderbilt (tonight, 8, SEC Network): Can the Commodores start the season with a win as a two-point home underdog against the Hilltoppers? Expect a steady helping of Ralph Webb while Vanderbilt tries to figure out its quarterback situation.

9. Louisiana Lafayette at Kentucky (Saturday, 7, ESPNU): How many points will Shannon Dawson’s new-look Air Raid offense generate under the direction of quarterback Patrick Towles in ‘New’ Commonwealth Stadium’s debut?

8. Louisiana Monroe at Georgia (Saturday, Noon, SEC Network): Will the Bulldogs’ offense look any different with Greyson Lambert at quarterback and Brian Schottenheimer calling the plays? Has the team rallied around the UVA transfer? Nick Chubb’s prepping for a light workload.

7. New Mexico State at Florida (Saturday, 7:30 p.m., SEC Network): Who will get the most reps at quarterback for the Gators, Will Grier or Treon Harris? First-year coach Jim McElwain will play both and says whoever has the hot hand will likely win the job.

6. Bowling Green vs. Tennessee (Saturday, 4, SEC Network): How will the Vols respond to immense preseason expectations without several starters?

5. UTEP at Arkansas (Saturday, 3:30, ESPNU): Playing without Jonathan Williams, who emerges in the Razorbacks’ running attack behind Alex Collins in Dan Enos’ debut as offensive coordinator?

4. Tennessee-Martin at Ole Miss (Saturday, Noon, SEC Network): Can JUCO transfer quarterback Chad Kelly take this offense by the horns with a stellar debut for the Rebels? One of the nation’s best defenses is juiced and ready to rock.

3. North Carolina vs. South Carolina (tonight, 6, ESPN): Will the Gamecocks’ defense be able to slow down the Tar Heels’ up-tempo attack and more importantly, can Jon Hoke improve the SEC’s worst pass rush in 2014?

2. Louisville vs. Auburn (Saturday, 3:30, CBS): Jeremy Johnson is the SEC’s preseason Heisman frontrunner. How will he perform in the spotlight inside the Georgia Dome?

1. Season-opening showdowns against talented Power 5s (Saturday): Can the SEC win all three neutral-site affairs against Wisconsin, Louisville and Arizona State? Western Division squads Alabama, Auburn and Texas A&M must bring their best. And the Crimson Tide and Tigers are both breaking in new quarterbacks with considerably different skill sets.

BONUS questions: How different will Mississippi State’s offense look from a rushing perspective without Josh Robinson? Will Mizzou’s pass rush once again lead its defense in the opener against Southeast Missouri State? LSU’s offense belongs to Brandon Harris — what will he do with it?
