Surely LSU’s sophomore running back didn’t want it to happen like this, but Leonard Fournette now has a clear path to the Heisman Trophy.

Baylor QB Seth Russell injured his neck on Saturday against Iowa State and will need surgery. Baylor announced Russell is out for the year.

Russell had been Fournette’s closest competitor for the Heisman, according to Bovada last week. Russell had 11/2 odds before his injury. Now Vegas has taken him off the board, and Fournette has retained his place atop the betting sheet.
