Will Muschamp is expected to become South Carolina’s next coach, and he may be taking another Auburn assistant with him to Columbia.

Muschamp is “strongly considering” bringing Auburn defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson aboard along with senior offensive assistant coach Kurt Roper of the Cleveland Browns, according to Football Scoop’s Zach Barnett.

Roper was Florida’s offensive coordinator in 2014 under Muschamp. He has 13 years of coaching experience in the SEC with previous stints at Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky.

Roper spent six years coaching at Duke, first as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach from 2008-13 before spending his final season as assistant head coach/offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach before joining Muschamp in Gainesville last season.

Robinson also has prior work experience with Muschamp. He was also on Muschamp’s coaching staff during his time with the Gators. Robinson has also coached at Western Kentucky, Southern Miss and Texas Tech.

There have also been reports that Muschamp has reached out to Clemson co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott about assuming the same role with the Gamecocks.

Former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore is also reportedly in the mix for a position with the school and has spoken to Muschamp about it.
