Four-star wide receiver prospect Kevin Gavin suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of the Class 5A state championship game and was transported to a local Orlando hospital.

Gavin, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect from Crawfordville, Fla., appeared to injure his right shoulder diving for a pass from Florida quarterback commit Feleipe Franks. Gavin grabbed his shoulder immediately as he hit the turf.

Wakulla lost the game to Bishop Moore 37-34.

Gavin sat on the team bench during the award ceremony with his shoulder heavily wrapped and iced. He eventually walked with assistance to an ambulance waiting at the Citrus Bowl Stadium.

Alabama, Florida State and Georgia are the top three schools for Gavin, who was committed to the Seminoles for nearly a year before backing away from his commitment in late August.

He was supposed to take an official visit to Alabama this weekeend but clearly that visit is in jeopardy.

Gavin is the 141st-ranked player in the 247sports composite rankings and had planned on playing in the Under Armour All-America Game on January 2.
