The SEC is known for producing dominant defensive tackles capable of clogging up the middle, penetrating into the backfield and rushing the passer.

Several teams will be replacing departing standouts, many of whom will be entering the NFL Draft. For example, Alabama is losing most of its front seven to the  NFL.

But here is a list of 10 top returning SEC defensive tackles:

Josh Augusta, Missouri: The 6-4, 335-pound rising senior had 27 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss in 2015.

Terry Beckner Jr., Missouri: The 6-5, 300-pound rising sophomore, who had 27 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 3 sacks as a true freshman, should be Mizzou’s next star defensive lineman.

Caleb Brantley, Florida: The 6-2, 319-pound rising junior had 29 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks in 2015.

Harold Brantley, Missouri: A standout in 2014 with 54 tackles, 7 tackles for loss and 5 sacks, Brantley missed the 2015 season with multiple injuries suffered in a car wreck and will return for his junior season.

Devon Godchaux, LSU: The 6-4, 293-pound rising junior had 41 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and 6 sacks in 2015.

Joey Ivie, Florida: The 6-3, 295-pound rising senior, who can play tackle or end, had 27 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in 2015.

Christian LaCouture, LSU: The 6-5, 307-pound had 35 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack in 2015. He fractured his arm in the Texas Bowl and will return for his senior season.

Daylon Mack, Texas A&M: As a true freshman, the 6-1, 335-pound Mack had 32 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss in 2015.

Dontavious Russell, Auburn: The 6-3, 295-pound rising sophomore had 42 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in 2015.

Breeland Speaks, Ole Miss: The 6-3, 313-pound rising sophomore had 32 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 1 sack in 2015.
